Tarek Fahl, MD, FAAOS
Dr. Tarek Fahl is an arthroscopy and sports medicine surgeon with a focus on shoulder and knee injuries. Throughout his career, he has cared for patients and athletes of all ages and activity levels. You may see him on the sidelines at local high school football games, but Dr. Fahl’s experience includes caring for professional athletes as well, such as the Houston Rockets and Astros.
Dr. Fahl feels most fulfilled when his patients return to their pre-injury level of activity. His practice includes surgical and non-surgical treatment of shoulder and knee injuries. He has extensive experience in shoulder SLAP repairs, Bankart repairs and rotator cuff repairs. He is also experienced in knee ACL reconstructions, meniscal surgery and complicated cartilage and ligament reconstructive cases. Other orthopaedic surgeons in the area routinely refer difficult shoulder and knee surgical procedures to Dr. Fahl for his expertise.
Dr. Fahl completed his residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and trained there under world renowned surgeon, Dr. Lachmann. Dr. Fahl also completed a fellowship in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in the Houston Medical Center. He has published research in the Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery and provided numerous presentations and lectures to physicians, trainers and students. Additionally, Dr. Fahl has published a surgical technique guide to assist orthopaedic surgeons in MCL Allograft Reconstruction.
In his time off, Dr. Fahl enjoys lifting weights, traveling and spending time with his wife and 4 children.
